Why Little Sparrow?
The sparrows referenced in scripture, primarily in the Gospels, symbolize God's care and attention to detail, even for the smallest of creatures. Jesus uses the image of sparrows being sold for a penny to illustrate that even insignificant things are noticed and cared for by God, implying that His followers are of far greater value. I relate to those sparrows because the Father keeps astonishing me with His generosity, giving me always exactly what I need. Also, each Hail Mary of every rosary we pray is held with the same tenderness — every bead and every breath received by God with attention and Love. And because of that, I try to mirror Him — paying close attention to detail, honoring each bead, each rosary, and each person with the same deliberate care He shows to even the smallest sparrow.
